Autumn 2015 Newsletter

We hope you’ll enjoy the Autumn 2015 New Beginnings News, which includes: cover story and a special photo insert about the expanded Lewiston Drop-In Center now open, former youth giving testimony on Capitol Hill, agency leadership transition in 2016, and exciting news about a $10K major gift match now in effect for the building campaign!

Other important items to highlight:

  • November is Runaway & Homeless Youth (RHY) Prevention Month: Please share the Tips to raise awareness from this newsletter, including putting up green lights at your home or business to show support for homeless youth! I saw a large display of green light bulbs at the Auburn Walmart this past week, and learned that in addition to the RHY green light project there is a new “Greenlight a Vet” movement to honor our veterans. Your green porch light can support both causes this November!
  • Sock Giveaway Party: On November 11 from 1 to 4 pm, the New Beginnings’ Outreach program will be hosting a free event to showcase our new facility at 134 College Street in Lewiston! All youth ages 12-21 are welcome to come, enjoy free food and activities, and learn more about how New Beginnings works to end youth homelessness in Maine. They’d love to receive donations of new socks to give away at this event. For info call 207-795-6831.
  • Holiday Gift Drive: You can help make the holidays brighter for homeless youth. Our annual holiday wish list is online now! Call 207-795-4077 or reply to this email to sign up or learn more.
