SEXUALITY EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
ONE-DAY WORKSHOP

****THIS TRAINING HAS PASSED****

Thursday, November 3rd,2016
Sheraton 4 Points, Bangor, Maine
8:00 AM to 3:30 PM

The Maine Department of Education and New Beginnings are offering this FREE one-day workshop on sexuality education for students with special needs.  This is an opportunity for school and agency staff that are involved in providing sexuality education to students with developmental delays to attend together as “partners”.  Students with developmental delays are a vulnerable population at much greater risk for sexual exploitation.  Their need for sexuality education is often not met adequately.  For this reason, the workshop allows for strengthening collaboration and communication between staff members, provides strategies for modifying classroom activities and models effective activities from a variety of resources.

There is no charge for the workshop with lunch and breaks also provided.  For those attending the whole day workshop .7 CEUs will be available.  The FLASH sexuality education curriculum for students with special needs will be given to each school or agency at no cost.

Registration is first come, first served and space is limited.
