New Beginnings has been proud to be the fiscal sponsor of Outright L/A since 2013 and have been hosting Prevention and Training opportunities together for 20 years. New Beginnings will continue to support their mission through our work. However Outright L/A and the Maine Trans Network are teaming up to provide their services to a broader area and increase their presence in the communities they serve, and will no longer be utilizing New Beginnings fiscal services.
Chai Johnson of Outright L/A spoke of their new partnership recently stating, “Outright and MaineTransNet have run workshops together, shared space, and shared the expertise of our volunteers and staff. This is the next logical step for our work together. About 85% of Outright’s youth are trans. When they age out of our programs at 21, they find themselves alone. Working with MaineTransNet ensures continuity of community for these young adults and makes sure they’re not left out in the cold.”
Outright L/A and Maine TransNet offer similar services, focusing on community building work through peer-based social and support groups.
